How to Buy Dodgers Tickets on the Official Website

Here is how to purchase tickets through the official Los Angeles Dodgers website.

For older travelers, or anyone who finds small smartphone screens difficult to navigate,

I recommend using a computer because the seating chart and ticket information are much easier to see.

It is also a good idea to create your free account before tickets go on sale.

First, go to the Single Game Tickets page from the menu.

When you reach the game-selection page,

choose your preferred

Month, Day, and Time.

Be sure to confirm the opposing team as well,

then click the green Buy Tickets button.

After clicking Buy Tickets,

you will be taken to a page showing a map of Dodger Stadium.

Choose:

the number of tickets you need,

your preferred price range,

and your desired seating area.

After selecting an area, you can choose individual seats.

Prices vary from seat to seat.

Be careful not to spend too long deciding,

because the session may time out and force you to start again.

We Bought Two Types of Seats: One for the Full View and One Close to the Action

We chose two different seating areas:

2RS–6RS, which provides a panoramic view of the stadium,

and 135LG–141LG, which offers a more immersive, close-up experience.

Of course, I wanted to sit as close to the players as possible,

but Dodgers tickets can be expensive,

so I tried to choose seats that offered a good balance between price and experience.

I later added firsthand photos showing the actual views from these seats.

2RS–6RS: Good Value and a Great Overall View

The 2RS–6RS sections were often recommended as a strong option

for people buying Dodgers tickets through the official site for the first time.

Here are the advantages and things to keep in mind based on our experience.

Why Are 2RS–6RS Seats Easy to Watch From?

At Dodger Stadium, section numbers begin around the area behind home plate

and increase as you move toward the outfield.

• Section 2 is almost directly behind home plate: Lower section numbers are generally closer to the center behind home plate. From 2RS–6RS, you get an elevated view of both the pitcher and batter.

• The Reserve Level is at a comfortable viewing height: Because the seats are elevated, you can see almost the entire stadium like a panorama. It really gives you that “I’m finally at a Major League Baseball game!” feeling.

• It is easy to follow Shohei Ohtani: Because these seats are relatively central, you can watch his at-bats as well as see him returning toward the Dodgers dugout.

An Unexpected Advantage of the Reserve Level

Dodger Stadium is a historic ballpark.

At lower levels,

your view may sometimes be affected by the height of the person sitting or standing in front of you.

The Reserve Level has a steeper seating angle, which can make the field easier to see.

Things to Know Before Buying

• Day games can be extremely sunny: Some seats around 2RS–6RS may receive direct sunlight during daytime games. A hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen are highly recommended.

• Popular central sections can sell quickly: As shown in the screenshots, these centrally located seats offer a good balance of price and view, so they can fill quickly for popular events such as Bobblehead Days.

Our Experience: The View from 2RS and Shohei Ohtani

This is the actual view from our 2RS seat.

The seats are quite high,

and at first I even felt a little nervous just sitting there.

The stairs in this area are also steep,

so older travelers should use the handrails carefully when going up and down.

On the other hand, the elevated position gives you an excellent panoramic view

and really shows you the scale of Dodger Stadium.

It felt very different from watching baseball in Japan.

Because this seat was near the center,

we had an excellent view of Shohei Ohtani pitching.

If your main goal is to watch the pitcher,

I think a central seating area is a very good choice.

We could clearly see his pitching motion

and even get a sense of the speed of the ball.

For watching him pitch, I actually found this view easier than our seat on the third-base side.

Even from this higher seat,

using the zoom on a smartphone allowed us to take a surprisingly large photo of Ohtani.

Ohtani even hit a home run during this game!

The Dodgers dugout was also easy to see,

so we were able to capture the players celebrating and high-fiving on video.

That view would have been much more difficult from our third-base-side seat,

so I was very happy that we had chosen 2RS.

135LG–141LG: Closer to the Field and More Immersive

In addition to the panoramic 2RS–6RS seats,

we also purchased seats in 135LG–141LG, the Infield Loge Box area.

These seats are on a lower level and closer to the field.

Why We Liked 135LG–141LG

• The field feels much closer
• You can hear the players and the sound of the bat more clearly
• The speed and intensity of the game feel completely different

It is an atmosphere you simply cannot experience by watching the game on television.

The tension when Shohei Ohtani steps up to bat

feels very different from the experience in the Reserve Level.

• Your view may be blocked if people in front of you stand up
• Depending on the sun angle, it can become very hot
• Prices are often somewhat higher than Reserve Level seats

Our Experience: The View from 139LG and Shohei Ohtani

This is how Shohei Ohtani looked from our actual 139LG seat.

With a smartphone camera,

we were able to photograph him at this size.

We could not see every detail of his facial expression with the naked eye,

but we could see him clearly.

This is the stadium view from 139LG.

The large video board was easy to see,

and we could still enjoy a good view of the overall field.

I thought it was an excellent seat.

Shohei Ohtani was also very easy to watch.

The Dodgers hit five home runs during this game,

so the entire stadium became incredibly exciting.

We even high-fived the fans sitting around us,

which made the experience even more fun.

Which Seats Should You Choose?

✔ For your first Dodgers game, I recommend 2RS–6RS.

✔ If you are attending two or more games, consider trying 135LG–141LG for one of them.

Experiencing both types of seats made our Dodgers trip much more satisfying.

Dodgers Ticket Prices Can Change Quickly

The Lowest Prices We Saw Were on the First Day of Sales

In our case, buying on the first day of ticket sales was the least expensive option.

By the following day,

the same seats were already nearly $20 more expensive.

At the time, we were still monitoring whether ticket prices would continue rising as the game approached

or possibly become cheaper shortly before the game.

When we checked prices,

some seats were more than $100 higher than comparable seats for a regular game.

If receiving the promotional bobblehead is important to you,

I recommend planning for a higher ticket budget.

What We Actually Paid for Our Dodgers Tickets

The exchange rate actually applied by the credit card company

was higher than the rate shown in online currency searches.

So if you are traveling from overseas,

it is worth paying attention not only to the ticket price

but also to your card's foreign transaction fees and exchange rate.
