KOKO HOTEL Premier Tokyo Bay Makuhari Review: Public Bath & Breakfast

2026年6月22日

KOKO HOTEL Premier Tokyo Bay Makuhari

KOKO HOTEL Premier Tokyo Bay Makuhari opened on June 18, 2026, adding a new hotel option to the Makuhari Bay area in Chiba.

We were invited to the hotel’s opening preview and had the opportunity to stay overnight, so this review is based on our actual experience.

With convenient access from Kaihin-Makuhari Station, modern guest rooms, a large public bath, sauna and Hawaiian-style breakfast, the hotel works well for travelers visiting Makuhari for events, sightseeing or business.

In this review, we take a closer look at the rooms, public bath, breakfast and the details that stood out during our stay.

Only 3 Minutes from Kaihin-Makuhari Station

KOKO HOTEL Premier Tokyo Bay Makuhari is conveniently located near JR Kaihin-Makuhari Station.

It is about a three-minute walk from the station’s South Exit and around one minute from the South Exit of the Park Gate.

The location is particularly useful for travelers visiting Makuhari Messe, nearby shopping facilities or other attractions around the Makuhari Bay area.

Being close to the station also means less walking with luggage, which we appreciated after a long day.

Guest Rooms: Compact, Modern and Functional

The guest rooms have a simple, sophisticated design.

Our room was relatively compact, but everything was arranged efficiently and it felt comfortable for an overnight stay.

Separate toilet at KOKO HOTEL Premier Tokyo Bay Makuhari

One feature we especially liked was that the bathroom and toilet were completely separate.

This is much more convenient than a typical unit bathroom, particularly when sharing a room with another person.

The bathroom had both a shower and a bathtub, with stylish dark-toned tiles creating a modern atmosphere.

The hotel also offers larger room configurations, including an Executive Triple with Sofa Bed, which can work well for three people traveling together.

Room Facilities and Amenities

During our stay, the room was equipped with a TIGER electric kettle, two bottles of mineral water, mugs and glasses.

Pajamas were also provided, which meant one less thing to pack.

Choose the Amenities You Need Near Reception

Rather than placing every disposable amenity inside the room, the hotel had a self-service amenity area beside reception where guests could take the items they needed.

During our stay, the selection included toothbrushes, hairbrushes, body towels and body lotion.

There were also useful items such as makeup remover, skincare products, hair ties and mouthwash.

For travelers who occasionally realize they have forgotten a toiletry after arriving at the hotel, this was especially convenient.

Our Overnight Stay: Quiet and Comfortable

Our stay at KOKO HOTEL Premier Tokyo Bay Makuhari

After the opening preview, we stayed at the hotel overnight.

One thing that genuinely surprised us was how quiet the room felt at night.

Considering that the hotel is only a few minutes from Kaihin-Makuhari Station, we expected to hear some trains or outside noise.

However, during our stay, we hardly noticed any noise from outside and were able to sleep comfortably until morning.

The bed was comfortable too.

The mattress had enough thickness and support without feeling either excessively soft or overly firm.

After a busy day, we were able to get a good night’s rest.

Because our visit took place immediately after the hotel opened in June 2026, everything also felt extremely new and clean.

The guest room, lobby and bathing facilities all looked fresh and well maintained during our visit.

Large Public Bath, Outdoor Bath and Sauna

For us, one of the biggest attractions of KOKO HOTEL Premier Tokyo Bay Makuhari was its large public bathing area.

The indoor bath was spacious enough to stretch out and relax after a day of sightseeing or attending an event.

Outdoor bath at KOKO HOTEL Premier Tokyo Bay Makuhari

There was also an outdoor bathing area.

The black-and-white tiled design gave the space a modern look, and deck chairs were available nearby for relaxing after bathing.

Sauna at KOKO HOTEL Premier Tokyo Bay Makuhari

A sauna was also available, with two levels of bench seating.

For a hotel located so close to a major station and convention area, having both a large bath and sauna made the stay feel more relaxing than a typical business-oriented hotel.

Spacious Changing and Vanity Areas

The changing area was spacious, with lockable lockers for guests.

Several vanity stations were available, so guests had enough space to get ready after bathing.

During our stay, the women’s bathing area had ReFa hair dryers, while the men’s area had Dyson hair dryers.

The women’s changing area also had makeup remover, facial cleanser, lotion, moisturizer and a water dispenser.

The shower area used ReFa shower heads and haircare products during our visit as well.

These details made the bathing facilities feel a little more premium.

The relaxation area after the bath was another pleasant surprise.

Large windows offered views over Makuhari at night, making it a comfortable place to sit after bathing.

During our stay, self-service drinks were available free of charge.

It was convenient to be able to rehydrate without returning to the room.

Free ice pops at KOKO HOTEL Premier Tokyo Bay Makuhari

What surprised us most was the selection of complimentary ice pops.

There were several colors and flavors to choose from.

Having a cold ice pop while enjoying the night view after a hot bath felt like a small luxury.

Snacks were also available during our stay.

The combination of the bath, drinks, snacks and relaxing lounge made this one of our favorite parts of the hotel.

Services and selections may change, so the items shown here reflect our June 2026 stay.

Breakfast at Hawaiian Restaurant Merengue

Breakfast is served at Merengue, the Hawaiian cafe and restaurant on the first floor.

Breakfast was served buffet-style, with a distinctly Hawaiian-inspired atmosphere.

Fresh Pancakes and Eggs Benedict

One of the highlights was the freshly prepared pancakes.

We could add whipped cream and syrup, making breakfast feel almost like visiting a Hawaiian cafe.

There was also Eggs Benedict, adding another Hawaiian-style option to the buffet.

A good selection of bread was available too.

Plenty of Drinks, Including a Banana Soy Milk Shake

The breakfast buffet included orange juice, grapefruit juice, coffee, tea and herbal tea during our visit.

The drink that caught our attention most was the banana soy milk shake.

It was a fun addition to the usual hotel breakfast drink selection and suited the Hawaiian theme perfectly.

Breakfast dishes and drinks may change depending on the season and hotel operation.

Foreign Currency Exchange Inside the Hotel

There was also a foreign currency exchange machine on the hotel’s lobby floor during our stay.

For international travelers visiting Japan, having the option to exchange money without leaving the hotel can be useful.

Is KOKO HOTEL Premier Tokyo Bay Makuhari Worth Staying At?

Large public bath at KOKO HOTEL Premier Tokyo Bay Makuhari

What stood out most during our stay was that the hotel offered more than we expected from such a convenient station-area property.

The guest rooms are relatively compact, but the hotel makes up for that with a spacious public bath, outdoor bath, sauna and comfortable relaxation lounge.

We also appreciated the separate bathroom and toilet, the selection of amenities, and the Hawaiian-style breakfast at Merengue.

For travelers in their 60s and beyond, being close to Kaihin-Makuhari Station means less walking with luggage, while the large public bath offers a relaxing way to end the day.

It should also be particularly convenient for anyone attending an event or convention at Makuhari Messe.

Our stay took place shortly after the hotel opened in June 2026, so some services and amenities may change over time.

Overall, KOKO HOTEL Premier Tokyo Bay Makuhari gave us a comfortable stay with a little more relaxation than we expected from a hotel in such a convenient location.
