On the night we stayed at
The Moon Beach Museum Resort,
we had dinner at
Yamashirotei,
an Agu pork restaurant located just a short walk from the hotel.
At first, we planned to go to another nearby restaurant called Ku-e-pu,
which also had very good reviews,
but it was fully booked.
So we decided to try Yamashirotei instead,
and in the end,
I’m glad we did because the food was delicious and the prices felt quite reasonable.
Yamashirotei is a restaurant where you can enjoy
Okinawan dishes and Agu pork raised on the restaurant’s own farm.
It is also a convenient dining option if you are staying near Moon Beach and want to try local food.
※The menu prices mentioned below were from the time of our visit.
What We Ate at Yamashirotei Near Moon Beach
Here are the dishes we actually ordered and enjoyed at Yamashirotei.
Sea Grapes — A Must in Okinawa | ¥550 at the Time of Our Stay

We started with sea grapes♪
They were ¥550 at the time of our visit.
Whenever I go to Okinawa,
I always want to eat sea grapes at least once.
In Okinawa,
restaurants often serve them in generous portions,
which makes them even more satisfying.
Surprisingly Mild Goya Salad | ¥440 at the Time of Our Stay

Next was the goya salad.
It was ¥440 at the time of our visit.
This was actually my first time eating goya in a salad,
and
I was surprised at how mild it was.
It was delicious (*´ω`*)
I became curious about how it was made,
and after returning home from the trip,
I even tried making it myself.
But it didn’t come out nearly as good(笑)
It is definitely a dish I would love to eat again.
Soki Soba with Delicious Pork | ¥935 at the Time of Our Stay

Of course, we also ordered soki soba♪
It was ¥935 at the time of our visit.
What impressed me most was the pork.
It was one of the best pieces of pork I’ve had in soki soba.
The noodles were pleasantly chewy too♪

The pork even had the bone attached (*´ω`*)
There are many restaurants in Okinawa serving soki soba,
but this meal reminded me that the flavor really does vary from place to place.
Agu Pork Tonkatsu with Sweet, Flavorful Fat | ¥1,100 at the Time of Our Stay

Last but not least,
we ordered the Agu pork tonkatsu♪
It was ¥1,100 at the time of our visit.
There were many other tempting dishes too,
including vegetable rolls with Agu pork
and Agu pork mille-feuille style dishes,
but this time we chose the tonkatsu.
The fat had a gentle sweetness and a rich flavor that made it especially enjoyable.
The coating was also light and easy to eat☆☆
Yamashirotei currently serves
Agu pork dishes and Okinawan cuisine made with pork from its own farm.

The delicious Okinawan food made the beer taste even better too (*^▽^*)笑
Yamashirotei Is a Convenient Dinner Option Near Moon Beach

Inside the restaurant,
there were many autographs on display.
There seemed to be quite a few from baseball players,
so perhaps some of them visited during Okinawa training camps.
When we visited,
there were also quite a few local customers.

There are several restaurants around Moon Beach
where you can enjoy Okinawan food.
If you want to have dinner outside the hotel,
it is nice to have multiple choices within walking distance.
One of the nice things about staying near Moon Beach is that you can enjoy not only the hotel itself, but also nearby local restaurants.
Yamashirotei was clearly popular when we visited.
It is still a restaurant where reservations are possible,
so if you definitely want to eat here,
I recommend booking in advance.

The Moon Beach Museum Resort Review: Rooms, Pools, Beach & Buffet
On our second trip to Okinawa that year, we stayed one night at The Moon Beach Museum Resort and one night at Sheraton Okinawa. This was our first stay at The Moon Beach Museum Resort. At the time of our stay, the room cost around ¥15,000 per night, which felt quite reasonable for a resort hotel. We also enjoyed the buffet and cakes, and the beautiful scenery made our stay especially relaxing. In this review, I’ll introduce the room, pools, beach, public bath, lunch buffet and other facilities based on our actual stay. ※Facility information, prices and opening hours were ...
