After arriving at Phuket International Airport, we used Grab to travel to our first hotel, The Tint at Phuket Town.
We were staying in Phuket for three nights, and chose this hotel for our first night because it was convenient for Phuket Town and for our Phi Phi Islands tour the following day.
In this review, we share our experience using Grab from Phuket Airport, the hotel's location, our room with three beds, the bathroom, noise levels, pool and other facilities.

Taking Grab from Phuket Airport to Phuket Town
Grab is a ride-hailing app widely used in Southeast Asia.
You enter your pickup point and destination in the app, then choose from the available vehicle options and displayed fares.
For our trip, we had luggage for seven days and were traveling with three suitcases, so we selected a vehicle large enough to fit everything comfortably.

Using Grab made the journey easy because we could see the fare in the app before confirming the ride.
In our case, it was also less expensive than the taxi option we had considered.
The vehicle was clean and spacious, and the ride to Phuket Town was comfortable.
For travelers who prefer to arrange transportation through an app rather than negotiate a fare after arriving, Grab can be a convenient option.
The Tint at Phuket Town: A Colorful Hotel in a Convenient Location

We stayed in Phuket for three nights, and The Tint at Phuket Town was our hotel for the first night.
We had booked a Phi Phi Islands tour for the following day, so we wanted a hotel with convenient access to Phuket Town and the area used for our tour transfer.
We were also looking for somewhere clean and reasonably priced, with a room that could accommodate three adults.
The colorful design of the hotel was another reason it caught our attention.
Rooms with three separate beds can be harder to find, so we booked in advance through Agoda.

Lobby, Café and Pool

The Tint is a relatively small hotel, but we found the lobby clean and welcoming.

There is also a café area on the ground floor where breakfast is available.

The hotel has a small swimming pool as well.
During our stay, we saw families enjoying the pool.

There were convenience stores and small shopping facilities nearby, but the hotel itself also sold drinks and ice cream on the ground floor.

We also noticed plenty of tour information in the lobby, including excursions to popular destinations around Phuket.
Our Room with Three Beds

One of the most distinctive things about The Tint is its colorful interior.
The design is cheerful and playful, giving the hotel a more relaxed atmosphere than a typical business-style hotel.

One point to be aware of during our stay was that there was no elevator in the part of the hotel we used.
We had large suitcases, but a member of staff kindly helped us carry our luggage upstairs.
We really appreciated the assistance.

Our room had three separate beds, which was exactly what we needed for our group.
Rooms suitable for three adults can be more limited than standard double or twin rooms, so we were glad we had booked early.
At the time of our trip, availability for this room type became limited well before our stay.
Was the Room Quiet? What About Mosquitoes?

We loved the cute elephant-shaped towel waiting on the bed.
During our stay, we did not notice mosquitoes or other insects inside our room, and the room felt clean.
The main downside was noise.
We could sometimes hear other guests talking in the hallway and children outside the room.
Light sleepers may want to pack earplugs.
Bathroom and Toiletries

The bathroom was fairly simple.
There were not many personal toiletries provided, so we recommend bringing your own skincare and beauty items if you have particular products you prefer to use.
Shampoo and body wash were available during our stay.
Our hair felt slightly dry after washing, so travelers who are particular about hair care may also want to bring their own conditioner or treatment.

The shower and toilet shared the same bathroom area.
There was not much separation between the shower area and the rest of the bathroom, so we had to be careful not to get the floor too wet.
The water pressure was weaker than what we are used to in Japan, but we had no major problems using the shower.

Complimentary Snacks and Drinks

One small detail we really enjoyed was the complimentary snack selection in our room.
During our stay, there were snacks including Pocky and lollipops, as well as complimentary water and Coca-Cola.
There was also a coffee machine.
We do not often find this many complimentary snacks at a hotel in this price range, so it was a fun surprise.
We even took some of the snacks with us for our Phi Phi Islands tour the following day.
Amenities and complimentary items can change, so the exact selection may be different during your stay.
Convenient for Phuket Town and Island Tours

One of the biggest advantages of The Tint was its location.
It worked well for exploring Phuket Town and for our plans to join a Phi Phi Islands tour the following day.
There were also convenience stores and other useful facilities within easy reach.
For us, it worked particularly well as a practical one-night base before continuing with the rest of our Phuket itinerary.
Is The Tint at Phuket Town Good for Travelers Over 60?
Our overall experience was positive.
The room was clean, staff were helpful with our luggage, and the location was convenient for our itinerary.
There are, however, a few things we would keep in mind.
What We Would Know Before Booking
- Rooms with three beds may have limited availability, so book early if traveling as a group of three
- There was no elevator in the area we used, so stairs may be a consideration with heavy luggage
- We could hear some hallway noise, so earplugs may help light sleepers
- The shower area was simple and the floor could become wet
- Bring your preferred toiletries and hair-care products
- The location worked well for Phuket Town and our island-tour plans
For travelers looking for a colorful, relatively simple hotel in Phuket Town rather than a beachfront resort, The Tint at Phuket Town was a convenient choice for our itinerary.
