After our morning activity,we returned to our hotel to change clothes and then walked to Patong Beach.
It took us around eight minutes on foot from the Royal Paradise Hotel.
The sea looked beautiful, and plenty of people were relaxing
under beach umbrellas.
In this article,
I’ll share our walk around Patong Beach and the lunch we had afterwards at Savoey Seafood,
where we tried their popular crab curry.
I’m also sharing the actual receipt for our lunch for three people.
Patong Beach Was Full of People Relaxing by the Sea

Spending a lazy day doing absolutely nothing at Patong Beach looked pretty tempting.
Next time,
I would like to come back without planning anything at all.
Before our trip,
I had read comments saying that Patong Beach was not especially beautiful,
but when we visited, the sand looked white and the beach looked quite pretty to us.
The sun was very strong, so
sunglasses, a UV-protection cardigan or a rash guard can be useful.
It became far too hot to keep walking around comfortably and the sun was intense.
At that point, we decided we needed to escape somewhere.
We were hungry too, so we headed to the nearby Savoey Seafood.
Savoey Seafood and Its Popular Thai Crab Curry

Savoey Seafood is a long-established seafood restaurant in Patong.
One of its popular dishes is Pu Pad Pong Curry,
Thai-style crab stir-fried with yellow curry sauce and egg.
We had gone inside partly to escape the heat,
but...
the restaurant was open-air and did not have air conditioning.
There were fans, but it was still pretty hot,
so we quickly ordered something cold to drink.
Our plan to escape the heat had only been partially successful.

This was the Pu Pad Pong Curry we ordered.
The versions I had eaten in Japan before were made with soft-shell crab,
but this one used crab with a hard shell.
Getting all the meat out was harder than I expected.
Tip
If you care more about ease of eating,
Savoey also offers curry dishes made with crab meat rather than a whole crab in its shell.
That may be the easier option.
It was spicier than the versions I had eaten in Japan,
but it was delicious.
The price was on the higher side.

We also ordered stir-fried shrimp with cashew nuts and mushrooms.
The shrimp were plump and satisfying and this dish was delicious too.
Prices Are a Little Higher — We Visited for Lunch

We also ordered rice,
beer and a watermelon smoothie.
The food went perfectly with beer!
An ice-cold beer in the Thai heat,
with spicy food, was especially good.
Compared with some of the other restaurants
we visited in Phuket,
Savoey Seafood felt a little more expensive.
We went for lunch and because the three of us
did not order a huge amount of food,
we were able to keep the total cost fairly reasonable.
If you want to try a classic Thai crab curry in Patong,
Savoey Seafood is worth considering.
Exactly What Lunch for Three Cost Us

Here is our actual receipt.
The total came to THB1,327 for three people.
These prices are from the time of our visit and may have changed.
| Item | Price (THB) |
|---|---|
| Pu Pad Pong Curry | 600 |
| Stir-Fried Shrimp with Cashew Nuts | 300 |
| Rice | 50 |
| Beer | 170 |
| Watermelon Smoothie | 120 |
| Total | 1,327 |
This was just the right amount of food for the three of us.
None of us are particularly big eaters, so keep that in mind if your group has bigger appetites.
I hope this helps when planning your own meal in Patong.
