The Westin Yokohama is celebrating Halloween with a special Halloween Dessert Buffet, available for a limited time from September 17 to October 30, 2026.
After enjoying their popular strawberry dessert buffet earlier this year, I was excited to see how the restaurant would transform for Halloween.
And this time, the atmosphere is completely different 🎃
Ghosts, witches, Frankenstein, vampires...
Halloween is supposed to be a little spooky, but the desserts here are actually incredibly cute.
Some of the ghost-shaped sweets were so adorable that I almost felt guilty eating them!
Seasonal ingredients such as pumpkin, purple sweet potato, chestnut, apple, and hazelnut are also used throughout the buffet.
I visited the buffet myself, so in this article I’ll share the sweets that made me think,
“That's so cute!”
“This is delicious!”
and sometimes,
“This is hilarious!” 😆
with plenty of photos.

Halloween at Pacific Table, Westin Yokohama

The buffet is held at Pacific Table, the restaurant located on the third floor of the Westin Yokohama in the Minato Mirai area.
The restaurant has high ceilings and plenty of space between tables, so it feels calm and comfortable rather than crowded.
During the Halloween season, orange decorations are added throughout the restaurant, giving the elegant dining space a playful seasonal atmosphere.
The Pink Dessert Buffet Area Is So Cute!

The first thing that caught my eye was the pink dessert buffet area.
When you think of Halloween, black and orange probably come to mind.
But at the Westin Yokohama, the buffet area is based around soft pink tones.
Bats, ghosts, pumpkins, and “Happy Halloween” decorations are scattered throughout the space.
Instead of looking scary, it feels more like a cute and stylish Halloween.

There are so many photogenic details that I found myself taking pictures before I even started eating.
Sometimes a dessert buffet is fun before you have even picked up your first plate 😊
The Giant 1-Meter Bowl Gets a Halloween Makeover

One of the signature features of the Westin Yokohama dessert buffet is its enormous bowl, measuring around one meter in diameter.
During the strawberry buffet, it was filled with strawberries like a giant jewelry box.
For Halloween, the same area has been completely transformed.
Ghost sweets, pumpkins, candles, and pumpkin burnt custard are displayed together like a Halloween centerpiece.
The buffet itself almost feels like part of the entertainment.
Adorable Ghost Sweets With Different Expressions

My favorite part of the entire buffet was definitely the ghost sweets 👻
They are seriously adorable.
And if you look closely, every ghost has a slightly different face.
Some are smiling.
Some are sticking out their tongues.
Some look a little confused.
Choosing which one to eat becomes part of the fun.
My Favorite: Ghost Mochi With Red Bean and Chestnut

My personal favorite was the ghost sweet filled with Hokkaido red bean paste and candied chestnut.
The little witch hat made it almost too cute to eat.
Almost.
Of course, I ate it(笑)
The outside was wonderfully soft and chewy, while the inside was filled with sweet red bean paste and chestnut.
It looks completely Halloween-themed from the outside, but the flavor itself is comforting and very Japanese.
I also liked having a traditional Japanese-style sweet in between all the cakes and mousses.
It gave my palate a nice break from richer desserts.
The yellow ghost sweet nearby was pumpkin mousse, while the black dessert was a black pearl shell-style ghost macaron.

This One Made Me Laugh: Witch Finger Shortbread

This is the witch finger shortbread.
And honestly, it looks even more like a real finger in person 🤣
A nut is used as the fingernail, and even the wrinkles around the knuckles are carefully recreated.
When you hold one in your hand, it really does look like a tiny finger.
Among all the cute desserts, suddenly finding something this strangely realistic made me laugh.
This would definitely be a fun one to share with friends or family.
Hojicha Chocolate Terrine With Pumpkin Buttercream

Another dessert I really enjoyed was the hojicha chocolate terrine with pumpkin buttercream.
The rich hojicha terrine is topped with plenty of pumpkin buttercream, along with pumpkin seeds and a small jack-o'-lantern decoration.
Hojicha and pumpkin may sound like an unusual combination, but both have warm, autumnal flavors that work surprisingly well together.
It looks playful and Halloween-themed, but the flavor itself feels a little more sophisticated.
Pumpkin, Purple Sweet Potato and Other Autumn Flavors

The buffet isn't only about cute decorations.
You'll also find plenty of autumn flavors such as pumpkin, purple sweet potato and chestnut.
Even the purple sweet potato Mont Blanc comes with a little black bat decoration.
Seasonal dessert buffets are especially fun because they really give you that feeling of enjoying something that is only available right now.
Vampire Strawberry Chocolate Fondue

We also tried the optional Vampire Chocolate Fondue.
The first thing you notice is the color.
It is bright red!
The “blood” is actually strawberry chocolate 🍓
You can dip mummy madeleines and ghost marshmallows into the chocolate.
The worried-looking marshmallow ghost was especially cute.
My favorite combination was the marshmallow with strawberry chocolate.
It was delicious.
Chocolate fondue can sometimes feel very rich, but this strawberry chocolate was surprisingly light and smooth.
Even after eating quite a few desserts, I could still enjoy it.
The fondue costs an additional 1,500 yen for one set or 2,500 yen for two sets.
It is limited to 10 groups / 20 guests per day, so if you want to try it, it is best to reserve in advance.
A Halloween Mocktail With a Tiny Pumpkin Ghost

There is also a special Halloween mocktail.
Look closely and you'll find a smiling pumpkin ghost floating inside the glass.
Even the drinks have their own Halloween characters 😊
The drink is served with a cinnamon stick and has a slightly spiced aroma.
I especially liked that it wasn't overly sweet.
The refreshing flavor made it perfect for drinking between desserts.
The mocktail costs extra, but it is a fun addition if you want the full Halloween experience.
Eight Types of Tea and Plenty of Drinks

There are eight varieties of tea available.
Options include hojicha, Earl Grey and English Breakfast, along with more unusual flavors such as hibiscus berry, masala chai and green pomegranate.
It is fun to choose different teas depending on which dessert you are eating.
Coffee is also available.

Cold drinks include:
- Grapefruit juice
- Orange juice
- Detox water
- Iced coffee
- Oolong tea
- Iced tea
Personally, I always want something unsweetened halfway through a dessert buffet, so having oolong tea and detox water available was very welcome.
One of the Best Things About This Buffet: The Savory Food

One of the things I particularly like about the Westin Yokohama dessert buffet is that the savory food selection is surprisingly substantial.
Dessert buffets can be difficult when one person loves sweets and the other person would rather eat a proper meal.
But here, you can enjoy dishes such as:
curry, minestrone, pizza, rice dumplings, salad and meat dishes.
So even if one person wants lots of cake while someone else prefers savory food, both can enjoy the buffet.
There is enough food here to make it feel more like a late lunch followed by dessert.
Popular Westin Yokohama Curry

One particularly popular dish was the Westin Yokohama special curry.
It has a slightly tangy flavor.
When I was there, people kept going back for it and the tray emptied surprisingly quickly.
So if you want to try it, you may want to grab some when you see it!
My Favorite Savory Dish: Cheesy Arancini

My favorite savory dish was the arancini with melted cheese and tomato cream sauce.
Arancini are Italian rice croquettes.
Tomato cream sauce plus melted cheese is already a winning combination 😆
I liked it so much that I went back for another serving.
And after eating sweet desserts, something warm and savory tastes even better.
Rice Dumplings, Fresh Pizza and Meat Dishes

There are also rice dumplings served in bamboo steamers.
With Yokohama's famous Chinatown nearby, it somehow feels fitting to see a Chinese-style dish on the buffet.

Freshly baked pizza is also available.

There are even meat dishes.
At this point, it feels less like “just a dessert buffet” and more like a full meal followed by as many desserts as you want.
For me, the strong savory selection is one of the biggest reasons this buffet feels so satisfying.
Weekend Halloween Decorations in October
The Halloween Dessert Buffet itself is available on weekdays.
However, during weekends and public holidays in October, some dishes and desserts served at the lunch and dinner buffets also receive Halloween-themed touches.
The restaurant also features special “YELLOWEEN” decorations.
So if you cannot visit on a weekday, you can still enjoy some of the Halloween atmosphere during a weekend lunch or dinner.
Why I Think This Buffet Is Great for Mature Travelers Too

You might think Halloween events are mainly for younger people.
But after visiting, I actually felt that this buffet could be very enjoyable for older travelers and families across different generations as well.
Although the desserts look playful, many of the flavors are familiar and comforting, including red bean, chestnut, pumpkin, purple sweet potato and hojicha.
The hotel setting is also calm and elegant, and the 3:00 p.m. starting time makes it easy to enjoy without rushing.
It is also the kind of buffet that naturally starts conversations.
You look at the little ghosts and say, “This one is cute!”
Then someone discovers the witch finger and everyone laughs.
That kind of experience is part of the fun.
It would be a lovely place for a mother-daughter outing, and children's pricing is also available, so it could be fun for grandparents visiting with grandchildren as well.
More than anything, I came away feeling that the whole buffet was simply cute, cheerful and strangely comforting.
It isn't really a scary Halloween.
It is the kind of Halloween that makes you smile 🎃👻
If you love both cute desserts and proper savory food, this is a buffet worth checking out while it is available.
