Waikele Premium Outlets: The $82 Coach Bags and Kate Spade Deals We Found

2019年7月17日

Waikele Premium Outlets in Hawaii

On this Hawaii trip, we returned to Waikele Premium Outlets for another round of shopping.

A few years earlier, we had visited as part of a JAL package tour, but this time we booked our transportation independently and took a shuttle from Waikiki.

And once again, Waikele was dangerously good for the wallet.

Or perhaps dangerously bad for the wallet, depending on how you look at it.

We found Coach bags for $82, a Coach card case for under $20, and major discounts at Kate Spade.

This article is based on our actual shopping experience in 2019, so the exact sale prices and discount rates shown below are historical.

However, as of 2026, Waikele Premium Outlets still includes stores such as Coach Outlet, Kate Spade New York Outlet and Polo Ralph Lauren Factory Store.

2026 Update

The product prices and discount rates in this article are from our 2019 visit and should not be treated as current prices.

As of 2026, Waikele Premium Outlets is still operating as Hawaii’s only outlet shopping center, with more than 50 stores including Coach Outlet, Kate Spade New York Outlet and Polo Ralph Lauren Factory Store.

The VIP Tour round-trip shuttle from Waikiki is currently listed at $20 per person, with a $19 web-only early booking rate when booked at least seven days in advance.

Store lineups, shuttle prices, sales and promotions may change, so check the latest official information before visiting.

We Booked a Shuttle from Waikiki

For this trip, we used the Waikele Premium Outlets round-trip shuttle operated by VIP Tour.

As of 2026, the standard round-trip fare is $20 per adult or child age 3 and over, while children age 0–2 ride free without a separate seat.

A web-only early booking rate of $19 is available when booking at least seven days in advance.

The shuttle was useful because we did not need to rent a car or worry about driving.

Check Deals Before You Go

Before going to Waikele, we checked the available outlet coupons.

At the time, I registered for Simon Premium Outlets’ VIP program and printed coupons in advance.

That was useful because we could see which stores were offering extra discounts before arriving, and we did not need to spend time looking for coupons once we got there.

Today, Simon offers deals and member benefits online, so I would recommend checking the latest offers before your visit rather than assuming the old printed coupon system still works the same way.

Allow Extra Time — Our Shuttle Arrived About 30 Minutes Late

Waikele Premium Outlets shopping trip

The shuttle ride to Waikele took a little under an hour.

Earlier departures on previous visits had arrived more smoothly, but our 11:30 AM shuttle ran into traffic and was also delayed while waiting for another passenger.

Because the shuttle picked up guests from several locations, even if we were on time, the overall schedule could still be affected by traffic or other passengers.

We had expected to have about two and a half hours for shopping.

Instead, we ended up with only around two hours.

And two hours at an outlet mall disappears very quickly.

If shopping is one of the main reasons for your visit, I would leave as much time as possible rather than planning a tight schedule.

LeSportsac: A Large Pouch for $19.44

LeSportsac purchase at Waikele Premium Outlets

At LeSportsac, I bought a large pouch.

I especially liked the colour combination because it felt a little different from the designs I usually saw in Japan.

The original price was $27, and after a $7.56 discount, I paid $19.44.

Again, this was our 2019 sale price.

Coach Was Incredibly Cheap — We Found Bags for $82

Coach purchases from Waikele Premium Outlets

Coach was where things became dangerous.

We bought two bags, a small wallet, a card case and other items, and the total came to around ¥25,000 at the exchange rate at the time.

One of the bags had an original price of $298.

It was already 70% off, and because our total purchase exceeded $200, we received another $20 discount.

The final price for this bag was:

$82.

It was roomy enough for everyday use, which made the price feel even better.

Another Coach Bag — Also $82

Second Coach bag from Waikele Premium Outlets

We also bought another bag in a different design.

I had previously bought the same style in black a few years earlier and was still using it because it was so practical.

This one was also $82.

At that point, walking away from Coach became increasingly difficult.

Coach Card Case for $18.73 and Wallet for $41.32

Next were a card case for work and a small folding wallet.

The card case originally cost $68.

After the 70% outlet discount and the additional purchase promotion, the final price was:

$18.73.

That felt almost unbelievable.

The small folding wallet had an original price of $150 and ended up costing $41.32.

At the time, I remember thinking:

How is this even this cheap?

The funny part is that $41.32 was less than we had paid for some breakfasts in Hawaii.

If you like Coach, Waikele was one of those places where the prices made it very easy to start saying, “Maybe I should get this one too.”

Kate Spade Had Deep Discounts Too

Next was Kate Spade New York.

My daughter loves the brand, so this was one of the stores she was especially excited to visit.

The discounts during our trip were very good.

There was an entry queue at the time, and we waited around 10 minutes before going inside.

There were many different bag designs.

During our visit, a lot of the items we saw were marked 60% or 70% off.

This larger bag was especially cute.

The embroidered detailing made it look more luxurious.

There were also darker colours that would work well for autumn and winter, smaller party-style bags, and accessories.

What My Daughter Bought at Kate Spade

These were my daughter’s purchases.

The dress originally cost $328.

It was 60% off, and then an additional coupon discount brought the final price down to $118.08.

The denim bag was discounted by 60%, followed by another coupon discount, bringing the final price to $154.44.

The white bag had an original price of $378.

After a 70% discount and another 20% off, it came to just:

$90.72.

That was another price that made us stop and stare for a moment.

Kate Spade was definitely one of the stores where we found some of the biggest bargains during this trip.

Clothing Sizes Were More Limited for Us

One downside was the clothing size selection.

Because this was an outlet, the sizes available during our visit were limited, and many of the dresses we found were larger than the sizes my daughter usually wears in Japan.

So while the prices were excellent, finding the right clothing size was not always easy.

Bags were much less complicated.

Polo Ralph Lauren Was Also Worth Checking

We also saw good prices at Polo Ralph Lauren.

During our visit, polo shirts were available for around $60.

Again, that was our 2019 shopping price, but Polo Ralph Lauren Factory Store is still part of the current Waikele Premium Outlets directory.

Would We Shop at Waikele Premium Outlets Again?

Absolutely.

Waikele Premium Outlets was one of those places where the combination of outlet pricing and extra promotions created some genuinely surprising deals.

Our biggest finds included:

  • Coach bags: $82 each
  • Coach card case: $18.73
  • Coach folding wallet: $41.32
  • Kate Spade dress: $118.08
  • Kate Spade white bag: $90.72
  • LeSportsac pouch: $19.44

Those exact prices were from 2019, so I would never expect the same discounts on every visit.

But the fun of Waikele is that you never quite know what deal you are going to find.

And when you do find something you love at a price that makes you stop and check the tag twice, outlet shopping becomes very difficult to resist.

My biggest lesson?

Do not spend too long debating a good find.

Our shuttle delay had already eaten into our shopping time, and once we started moving between Coach, Kate Spade and the other stores, those two hours disappeared almost instantly.

If shopping is high on your Hawaii list, give yourself plenty of time — because at Waikele, hesitation can become its own sightseeing activity.

All product prices and discounts shown in this article are from our 2019 visit unless otherwise stated. Current prices, stock, promotions and store lineups may differ.
